Hours: 29.5 per week, 39 weeks sessional
The hours for this post are 8:30-15:30 (12:15 on Fridays)
Currie Community High School is situated to the south west of the City of Edinburgh and serves the communities of Currie, Riccarton, Juniper Green and Baberton Mains. The school has served the local community for some 350 years. The school enjoys excellent links with the local community and as a designated community high school, a quality community programme is offered. The school's SQA results are above both local and national averages and an extensive range of wider achievement opportunities are offered. The school is firmly committed to raising attainment and promoting positive achievement, leading to a high level of positive and sustained destinations.

We have very recently moved into our new school which is the first Passivhaus school in Scotland. We are seeking a Pupil Support Assistant (Welfare) who will oversee the management and administration of health care plans, provide first aid, administer medication, and care for unwell young people. A suitable qualification in first aid or considerable experience in this area is desirable, and a willingness to undertake any necessary training is essential.
The role also incorporates administrative and communication tasks such as creating the daily bulletin and supporting with registration using the Seemis system, and will be based in the school office.
The successful candidate will be a competent user of ICT and will be enthusiastic and organised with the ability to work flexibly and manage priorities to meet the needs of the school.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
