We are looking for a phlebotomist to work across both site Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon working a rota of25-hours 3 weekday + 2 weekend days 5 hour shifts and cover some bank holiday.
To perform venepuncture and veneole (capillary sampling) blood collection procedures
(the piercing/puncturing of veins or the slicing of veneoles, which are both invasive and
clinical procedures). To extract blood samples from patients in a manner that makes the
blood sample suitable/fit for analytical//therapeutic or diagnostic testing and purpose.
To be responsible for taking blood samples in a safe and competent manner.
To carry out all procedures safely and maintain high standards of care at all times.
To ensure correct labelling and dispatch of samples.
The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.
