Personal Assistant/Support Worker required for happy and active 13 year old disabled boy based in Bath (Upper Weston). The role will include personal care and prompting with meals as well as supporting the child to access the community.
Up to 3 hours per week term time (ideally on weekends) and 6 hours during school holidays, flexible days and times to be discussed. £12.21 per hour.
The PA will be lone working and providing companionship to access the community and encouragement to engage in activities such as play parks, trampolining and swimming.
The ideal candidate will have experience and an understanding of working with disabled children. They must be able to promote safety in the home/community and have a sense of danger awareness.
Driving license and access to own car is preferred but not essential. A basic knowledge of simple Makaton or a willingness to learn would be desirable. Ideally the candidate would be comfortable around animals are there are dogs and cats in the family home.
Role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
