We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team on Ward 16 at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary

Ward 16 is a busy department looking for an individual to provide a warm and welcoming approach to all patients, staff and visitors attending the ward. The ideal candidate will manage the organisation of patient records, admissions, transfers and discharges using the appropriate IT systems and arrange follow up appointments
The ideal candidate will have good communication and IT skills, keeping the IT systems live at all times. You will need to be able to deal with sensitive, confidential information in an appropriate manner. You will need to be able to respond to ward requests from ward staff and deliver to other parts of the hospital
Your main responsibility will be to answer the telephone and direct calls accordingly, liaise with senior nurse in charge and provide a professional welcoming approach to all visitors to the unit. You will need to work with minimal supervision providing administrative support to the ward team .
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
