Are you an experienced Maintenance Fitter looking for a new challenge with a forward-thinking manufacturing business? We’re currently recruiting for a Nightshift Maintenance Fitter to join a well-established timber processing facility based in Humbie, East Lothian.
About the Role
Working as part of a skilled maintenance team, you’ll play a key role in keeping production running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving a range of mechanical equipment to ensure maximum plant uptime and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and replace damaged or faulty equipment.
- Respond quickly to plant downtime and support production teams.
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and site overhauls.
- Use IT systems to log completed work and maintenance records.
- Ensure all work meets health, safety, and quality standards.
About You
- Fully qualified mechanical fitter (apprenticeship or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a heavy mechanical or manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- A team player who can also work independently and take initiative.
- Flexible, reliable, and safety-conscious.
- Having a drivers licence and access to a vehicle would be beneficial due to the location and shift pattern
