Are you a highly motivated and qualified English Teacher seeking a rewarding, fixed-term opportunity? We are looking for an exceptional practitioner to join our successful and forward-thinking secondary school. This part-time, temporary post is ideal for a dedicated professional ready to take ownership of their own classes and contribute fully to the departmental success within Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).
The RoleThe core focus of this position is to plan, deliver, and assess high-quality, engaging English lessons. You will be responsible for a full timetable of classes, ensuring exceptional progress and positive outcomes for all students aged 11-16. You will be expected to use formative and summative assessment strategies to effectively guide student learning.
What We OfferA competitive pro-rata salary is paid weekly, strictly adhered to the Main Pay Scale (MPS) or Upper Pay Scale (UPS), commensurate with experience. This is a fixed-term contract offering excellent experience, a robust Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program, and the chance to work within a highly collaborative and supportive departmental team.
The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for a committed and enthusiastic educator who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in the teaching subject (or closely related field).

Possesses recent, demonstrable experience teaching English Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

Exhibits excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

Is passionate about tteaching English and committed to raising student attainment.

Demonstrates a strong understanding of the National Curriculum requirements.

Is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
You will take full responsibility for the learning and achievement of all pupils in your classes, including planning, preparation, and detailed marking. Other duties include contributing to the development of schemes of work, assessing student progress and providing timely feedback, undertaking a form tutor role, and actively participating in whole-school life and training.
