Our client, a highly regarded educational institution in Salford, Greater Manchester, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-time SEN Cover Supervisor to join their supportive team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of learning for students with special educational needs during the absence of their regular teachers.
As an SEN Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons and activities to students with special educational needs, adhering to the curriculum and learning objectives set by the absent teacher
- Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of each student, ensuring an inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Maintaining a positive and nurturing classroom atmosphere, promoting good behaviour and addressing any issues that may arise
- Collaborating with the SEN department and other staff members to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to supporting students
- Keeping accurate records of student progress, attendance, and any incidents, reporting them to the appropriate staff members as required
- Participating in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with special educational needs
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in education, special educational needs, or a related field
- Proven experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably in a cover supervisor or teaching assistant capacity
- A thorough understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs and strategies to support their learning and well-being
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
- A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of students with special educational needs
