Job Introduction:

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and being the friendly face that sets the tone for a positive experience? As a Receptionist at HMRC Manchester, you'll be delivering exceptional customer service and provide first-class support to both the Sodexo team and HMRC personnel. This role involves a mix of reception, administrative, and general support duties across the site.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, handling calls, emails, and general enquiries.

  • Perform receptionist and administrative duties including filing, organising paperwork, and maintaining records.

  • Manage meeting room bookings via the internal Matrix system and support room set-ups as required.

  • Operate and assist with AV systems for meetings and conferences.

  • Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly and ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures.

  • Maintain high standards of personal presentation, hygiene, and uniform.

  • Support café operations and refill refreshment areas when required.

  • Work flexibly to cover holidays and absences when needed.

  • Liaise with the porterage and facilities teams via the internal radio system.

  • Provide outstanding customer service and assist in creating a welcoming environment.

What You Bring:

Essential:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Awareness of Health & Safety and willingness to follow procedures at all times.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support shared goals.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a similar front-of-house, receptionist, or administrative role.

  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities confidently.
