We’relooking for a talented and organisedChefto join our catering teamatNuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital, working in partnershipwithSodexo. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a professionalkitchen delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to patients, staff, andvisitors in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and cook meals following Sodexo’s internal recipe system to exact specifications.
- Maintain high food hygiene and safety standards, completing all HACCP, COSHH, and temperature records.
- Order provisions in line with Sodexo policy and manage stock efficiently.
- Keep all kitchen and service areas clean, tidy, and well maintained, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Complete all required Sodexo documentation and app-based checks (cleaning rotas, SMS, allergen reports, etc.).
- Plan menus, manage allergens, and print weekly allergy reports.
- Lead by example — ensuring recipes and specifications are consistently followed.
- Support team training through Sodexo’s GREAT training and competency checks.
- Communicate effectively with your team via daily huddles and meetings.
- Assist with rota planning, cashing up, billing, and compliance with Sodexo trading procedures.
- Support weekend or special function cover as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 Food Safety Certificate(essential)
- FSA Allergy Trained
- Health & Safety Management knowledge
- Strong organisational skills and ability to deliver on time
- Experience leading a small kitchen team
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Competent computer skills (Microsoft Office, apps, and digital systems)
- Proven experience in a fast-paced catering or healthcare kitchen
