Duration: Permanent, Full Time
Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £31,505 per annum / £17.31 per hour)
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
job purpose/about the role
The Development Officer – Housing will have a key role in working across the Housing Cluster to ensure that improvement activity, and the learning and development needs across the housing cluster are supported to ensure continued improved outcomes for our tenants and citizens.
The Development Officer – Housing will ensure that improvement activity aligns with changing legislation, strategies and policies, for example, the Aberdeen City Local Housing Strategy.
The Development Officer – Housing will have strong working relationships with other Council services, Community Planning Aberdeen, RSL’s who operate in the city, Scottish Government, third sector organisations, and Aberdeen City Health & Social Care Partnership.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
- Educated to Higher Grade qualification, or equivalent, and/or experience related to the role.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
The postholder is able to demonstrate:
• Ability to plan and develop strategies/policies/plans using evidence, data intelligence and consultation.• Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.• Ability to manage and analyse data and make operational and strategic recommendations.
• Effective teamwork.
• Proficient use of a range of IT packages, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to record information.
• Excellent customer service
•Written skills, including report writing
