Crynodeb
The provision of a comprehensive clinical Medical Microbiology and Infectious Disease service including advice regarding appropriate specimens, involvement in specimen analysis, validation and interpretation of results for transmission to clinicians, and involvement in the management of individual patients through full clinical liaison. Work with the Infection Control Doctor, the Antimicrobial Stewardship Lead and the King's Infection Prevention and Control Team, the Laboratory Clinical Lead on the audit and control of HCAIs and antimicrobial stewardships at King's. Provide cover for other Infection Control and Clinical Fellows periods of annual or study leave; reciprocal cover will be provided for the appointee. Be involved in the training of medical and nursing staff, clinical scientists and biomedical scientists as required. Contribute as required to the teaching of Medical Microbiology/Infectious Disease and Infection Control and AMS to under-graduates and post-graduates.
