Crynodeb

We are a well-established, family-run, Braintree-based firm looking for another van driver to join our long-serving small team. We need a multi-drop, part-time delivery driver to start immediately.
Each day, you will do 8-10 multi-drop deliveries using our panel van to predominantly business customers of office and business supplies around the county of Essex. No product knowledge is required.
This is a job-share opportunity, so you would work two days a week and a third day every other week. Ideally, these two days would be Mondays and Tuesdays, and alternate Wednesdays. Starting at 9:30 a.m. you should be finished by 1 p.m. most days, but that can be variable. A structured week along these lines allows you time to fit in other responsibilities. This role is usually attractive to a retired person who is fit and happy to be out and about, meeting new people. You should live locally to Braintree and not have a long commute to work.
Deliveries consist of light parcels, clearly labelled with the customer's details. The heaviest items would be a few boxes of A4 printer paper, which weigh 12 Kg. After a few weeks, it would take no effort to find your way to our customers, as it would be the usual drops you have been to before.
Your deliveries are picked, packed, and labelled by our warehouse staff using computer-printed delivery notes with full address details, including complete postcodes.
You should be over 25 (insurance policy limitation), fit to lift and carry, have a clean current UK driving licence, have a friendly attitude, and already know Essex well. You will need to show some initiative and enjoy being the face of our business to our customers.
We also assemble and erect office furniture (desks and chairs) at our customers' sites, and you will be required to assist our other staff in doing this.
This is a part-time, permanent role with scope for taking time out for short holidays, and the structured work week allows for fitting in other personal and family commitments.
The current hourly rate is £12.21 per hour, based on hours worked and is payable at the end of each month. This is the National Minimum Wage rate.
