The post holder will:
Increase participation by children, young people, parents, and carers involved in the Specialist CAMHs service in shaping services, ensuring that this involvement is meaningful and appropriate.
Ensure that the communication needs of service users and their parents and carers are acknowledged and represented.
Actively promote a culture of participation throughout the service and facilitate a shared understanding/ethos that participation is everyone’s responsibility.
Participate in CPD and other developmental activities.
Work along side system leads, partners and stakeholders to increase joint participation voices across the borough.
Follow defined practices and procedures under the management and co-ordination
of their line manager
Have a relevant and adapted Job plan according to the needs and requirements of the borough
they will be working.
• To embed the role of people participation within the local CAMHs service and carry out an analysis of current participation work across the service and relevant partners and groups, in order to develop a strong program of events and activities.
• To engage with all levels of the service structure including clinical teams and where required the North Central East London Collaborative regularly reporting to relevant groups on the activities, learning, recommendations, and results.
• To support and encourage all staff within the service to integrate user participation in daily practice as well as service development and provision of training.
• Making sure the service is communicating regularly with young people their families and carers, updating them on all current activities, user groups, forums, and wider activities.
• Managing users’ group and forums for the service, ensuring there is regular attendance across groups and making sure the young people and families have the opportunities to gain leadership experience, e.g., chairing meetings, taking minutes & Managing actions
