We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Patient Dining Manager to lead our patient dining service, ensuring every meal makes a difference to patient care and recovery. You’ll oversee a dedicated front-line catering team, working closely with clinical staff and dietitians to deliver nutritious, safe, and well-presented meals tailored to individual patient needs.
This is a role where you can directly enhance the patient experience — combining operational excellence with empathy, professionalism, and a drive for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the ward host/hostess team, fostering a culture of service excellence.
- Ensure meals are delivered on time, safely, and in line with dietary and clinical requirements.
- Engage with patients daily, gathering feedback and driving improvements to the dining service.
- Monitor quality, compliance, and hygiene standards (HACCP, food safety, infection control).
- Manage rotas, training, and development to build a motivated, high-performing team.
- Control costs, reduce waste, and manage stock effectively while maintaining service standards.
- Collaborate with clinical teams and hospital leadership to continually improve patient satisfaction.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in catering or hospitality management, ideally within healthcare or a high-volume service environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop diverse teams.
- Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-first mindset.
- Commercial awareness with experience in cost control and efficient service delivery.
- Resilient, organised, and calm under pressure, with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
If you’re ready to lead a team that makes a real impact every day, join us in delivering safe, nutritious meals that support patient care and recovery. Apply today to be part of our journey.
