This vital role ensures every garment leaving our Mill meets our exacting standards of craftsmanship, consistency, and care. If you have an eye for detail, enjoy hands-on work, and take satisfaction in seeing a perfect finished product, this could be the ideal role for you.
What You’ll Do:
As a Final Garment Examiner, you’ll:
• Carry out detailed inspections of finished garments against approved quality standards.
• Identify, label any faults or defects for correction.
• Verify repairs and ensure garments meet the required standard before packing.
• Work closely with the Finishing and Production teams to highlight and resolve quality issues.
• Accurately report inspection findings and communicate faults to relevant stakeholders for action.
• Keep your work area organised, tidy, and compliant with Health & Safety standards.
• Uphold John Smedley’s long-standing reputation for excellence in every piece you handle.

Skills & Experience You’ll Bring:

• Experience in garment examination, inspection, or quality control.
• Basic IT literacy for recording and reporting inspection data.
• Experience in knitwear, textiles, or luxury garment production.
• Knowledge of quality standards and inspection processes.
