As the Head of Compliance, you will lead the G4S FM independent Compliance Assurance function. You will direct a team to objectively audit and verify compliance across our building and M&E infrastructure. A key part of the role will be developing our statutory compliance framework to ensure robust governance.
In addition to leading the department, you will also serve as the lead Compliance Manager for a designated key account. This includes hands-on work, such as auditing maintenance procedures (HTMs, SFG20, etc.) and validating technical assessments for lifecycle proposals. Your work will directly drive continuous improvement across all technical functions.
Responsibilities will include:
Strategic Leadership & Departmental Management:
Develop Compliance Strategy: Design and continuously improve the company-wide statutory compliance assurance framework, aligning it with legal requirements, best practices, and business objectives.
Lead the Compliance Team: Lead, mentor, and develop the Compliance Assurance team, fostering a culture of objectivity, diligence, and technical excellence. Manage team performance and professional development.
Oversee Audit Program: Direct the creation and execution of the national risk-based audit program, ensuring regular and rigorous independent review of all statutory disciplines.
Senior Management Reporting: Lead the development and presentation of high-level compliance assurance reporting and dashboards for the Senior Leadership Team, providing a clear and accurate view of the company's compliance posture, key risks, and systemic trends.
Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the ultimate subject matter expert within G4S FM on the interpretation and application of statutory regulations from an assurance perspective.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with senior internal stakeholders (e.g., Heads of Hard FM, Lifecycle, H&S) and relevant external bodies, representing the company's assurance function with authority.
Account-Specific Compliance Assurance Management (THS):
Direct Auditing: Personally conduct and oversee systematic compliance audits for the designated key account, ensuring all contractual and statutory obligations are met and evidence is robust.
Evidence Verification: Undertake hands-on, meticulous verification of all compliance documentation for the account, including Gas Safety Certificates, EICRs, FRAs, logbooks, and maintenance records.
Non-Conformance Management: Identify, document, and report all non-conformities for the account, and track the operational team's corrective actions through to verified and satisfactory closure.
Client & Account Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for all assurance-related matters for the account's operational team and, where required, the client.
Performance Reporting: Develop and manage detailed compliance assurance reports and KPIs specifically for the designated key account.
Other duties: The job holder is expected to accept reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a similar level that may be necessary from time to time.
To be successful in this role you will need:
Significant experience in a senior Statutory Compliance or Technical Assurance role within Facilities Management, preferably in PFI or other complex, high-risk environments.
