This prestigious Independent Day and Boarding School in North Essex is looking for a suitably qualified Nurse to join our friendly and professional Nursing team.

The role will be working in our Medical Centre within a team of six nurses, a Healthcare Assistant and a Lead Nurse to promote and provide a clinically effective, high-quality service of nursing care to our students and the wider School community. The Medical Centre is integral to the School and our nurses are expected to proactively manage effective health promotion within the community by communicating with students, pastoral and academic staff.

Our School Nurses provide a holistic approach to the care of all pupils, each with a particular responsibility for two boarding houses, including health promotion, personal, social, health and education (PSHE), illness and injury assessment and treatment as directed by the Lead Nurse and Senior Leadership Team.

The successful candidate must be a Registered General Nurse or a Paediatric Nurse that holds a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council PIN number. It is essential applicants demonstrate clear empathy and understanding of young people’s development needs together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as the role will be working with students (aged between four and eighteen), parents and colleagues.

This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week / 150 hours per four-week period. The hours of work are during term-time only (34 weeks per year) between Monday to Sunday in accordance with the Medical Centre rota, which will include a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and overnight shifts as the School provides 24-hour cover.
