The University of Aberdeen is looking to appoint a Site Services Assistant to join the team of dedicated staff in Residential Services delivering a broad range of essential core operational services 24/7/365 across the University’s residential estate of owned and managed accommodation (ca 2000 beds).
Based at Hillhead Student Village, you work as part of a shift of Site Services Assistants who are customer focused and multi-functional, undertaking a wide range of customer-facing and practical operational duties. The team play a key role in the effective delivery of services to residents and as such this is a public-facing role requiring a high level of interaction with the students, staff and the general public.
The ability to work successfully as part of a team/several teams is essential in the role, as is possession of excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills. You must have experience of working with the public, dealing with challenging and sensitive people-related situations, and possess the ability to appraise situations quickly and effectively yet remain calm under pressure.
You must be prepared to work a 7-day, 24hr shift pattern, but with flexibility and a willingness to work other hours or change shift, based on reactive operational requirements.
You will have had previous customer facing experience in a busy operational environment, coupled with good IT skills.
A clean, current full driving licence is essential.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 4 Salary Scale, £26,942-£30,805 per annum.
