We are delighted to share that we are recruiting for a Technologist within our Food Technical Fresh & Frozen Team; Meat, Poultry, Eggs & Dairy Category.

This role will see the successful candidates deliver safe, legal, responsibly sourced, quality products for their area, always focusing on our customers and demonstrating value-led behaviour.

This position would suit someone with relevant experience/qualification(s) with the ability to deliver safe, legal, responsibly sourced products to the customer.

  • Risk assessing my products to be safe, legal, responsibly sourced and meet the Booker rules & policies.
  • Supporting and delivering the technical aspects of the product development critical path.
  • Supporting the delivery our responsible sourcing agenda across my supply base.
  • Managing my products to always be great quality through on-going monitoring and improvements.
  • Supporting the management of risk in our supply chains, from source, ingredients and raw materials, processing, manufacturing and Booker routes to market. (safety, business & reputational risks)
  • Supporting the supplier strategy for my area, ensuring we use the best suppliers & sources.
  • Supporting the development of supplier capability through collaborative engagement, setting clear goals and measuring progress. I do this by having Joint Quality Plans (JQPs) in place with all relevant suppliers.
  • Responding to complaints and incidents quickly and effectively, ensuring stakeholders are aware and relevant action is taken to protect customers and Tesco.
  • Challenging myself to learn new skills and keep abreast of the latest thinking in my industry to help drive innovation.
  • Developing and coaching my direct reports and supporting them to be their best.
  • Ensuring that everyone feels welcome at Booker.
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct, acting with integrity and due diligence.
  • Relevant degree/qualifications in related area
  • Experience of working in the food industry
  • Relevant product knowledge to deliver safe, legal, responsibly sourced products to the customer.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Good Communication skills
  • Attention to detail
