The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

• Full-time, long-term role starting immediately
• Support students on a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping them regulate emotions and engage positively in learning
• Work closely with teachers and behaviour mentors to implement personalised behaviour and support plans
• Encourage and guide pupils through moments of frustration or anxiety, helping them develop coping and social skills
• Assist with classroom routines, lesson activities, and transitions throughout the school day
• Foster a safe, supportive, and consistent learning environment where every student feels valued and understood

Person Specification

• A degree in Psychology, Education, Criminology, or a related field (essential)
• Previous experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEN, or SEMH (desirable but not essential)
• Calm, patient, and resilient with a positive and empathetic approach
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and reach their potential
