Crynodeb
The post-holder will primarily be involved in the Advanced Veterinary Nursing course provision within the department, covering topics in veterinary pain management and veterinary anaesthesia. This post-holder will also, to a lesser extent, be involved in other allied undergraduate and postgraduate modules within the University. The appointee will be based within the AHBW Department (Veterinary Nursing Section) and will work in collaboration with staff colleagues within Harper Adams University and the Harper & Keele Veterinary School.
The main duties will include;
• Contribution to the teaching, assessment, administration and development of curriculum content.
• Participation in the organisation, supervision, and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
• Marking and feedback on student coursework, examinations and practicals.
• Participation in, and development of, the knowledge exchange and outreach activity of the department, which will include occasional weekend work (e.g., Open Days, public engagement events);
• Participation in, and development of, the research activity of the department, particularly in veterinary nursing (pedagogy, natural and social science research) up to and including a standard suitable for publication in scientific peer-reviewed journals;
• Such other duties as requested by the line manager or Head of Department commensurate with the post and the salary range of the grade.
You must have substantial post-registration experience in UK veterinary practice, and you must either be a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with an undergraduate degree AND/OR RCVS Advanced Veterinary Nursing qualification OR a Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS).
Evidence of further study would be advantageous, for example achievement of a relevant postgraduate qualification.
This role can be worked remotely up to four days per week, in line with the in-person teaching timetable
