Overview:
Our client is looking for an organised and proactive Purchasing and Production Coordinator to support our procurement and manufacturing operations. This role is essential in ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services, maintaining optimal stock levels, and coordinating with internal teams and suppliers to meet production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process purchase orders for materials and products in line with production schedules.
• Monitor and manage supplier lead times, ensuring clear communication of delivery dates to relevant departments.
• Calculate material and part requirements based on current work schedules.
• Support the Manufacturing Manager in maintaining stock control systems and re-order thresholds.
• Input and verify all costs in the ERP system before order placement.
• Communicate with suppliers to confirm pricing, negotiate favourable terms, and identify efficient sourcing solutions.
• Assist with goods-in administration and coordinate the resolution of damaged or missing items.
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure production targets and deadlines are met.
• Keep customers informed of order status and delivery timelines to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support long-term procurement goals.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with internal policies and procedures.
• Support in resolving procurement or supplier-related issues.
• Carry out additional administrative duties as required.
Key Skills and Experience:
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyse and manage production data and reports.
• Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
• Solid understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
• Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
• Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and issue resolution.
