Nursery Cook – Part-Time (Uxbridge, UB8 2TJ)
Salary: £12.21–£13.00 per hour | Hours: 10am–2pm, Monday–Friday
A leading group of independent Montessori Nurseries in West London is seeking a passionate and organised Nursery Cook to join our lovely team in Uxbridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing healthy meals in a warm, child-focused environment.
About the Role:
You’ll be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 2–5 years, following our nursery’s healthy eating policy.
You’ll plan menus that reflect a variety of cultures, manage kitchen stock, and ensure all dietary requirements and allergies are carefully met. Maintaining a clean, safe and well-organised kitchen is key to the role, along with completing daily food safety and temperature records.
You’ll work closely with the Nursery Manager and staff team to ensure mealtimes are enjoyable and supportive for every child, helping to create a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare fresh, healthy meals suitable for children aged 2–5 years
• Plan weekly menus in line with dietary and cultural needs
• Ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness at all times
• Manage stock control and food ordering
• Maintain accurate records for food safety and temperature checks
• Communicate with staff regarding children’s allergies and dietary needs
Requirements:
• Current Food Hygiene Certificate
• Knowledge of food allergies and nutritional needs of young children
• Previous experience preparing meals for early years settings preferred
• Strong organisation, hygiene and time management skills
