Communication Build good relationships with practices and other prescribers and health care professionals (e.g., GPs, community pharmacists, district nurses etc.) to facilitate patient care. Communicate effectively with the patient, relatives, carers and all members of the team. Planning and Organisation Plan and prioritise daily and weekly workload, raising concerns as needed to the Clinical Lead Clinical Governance and Safety Be aware of and comply with employment legislation and codes of good practice. Be aware of, and comply with, all company and practice infection prevention and control policies, to include hand hygiene, personal hygiene, environmental and food hygiene. Report any significant events within the time frame set out in the company policy. Follow current BCSH, NICE, NPSA guidance and local guidance issues and alerts. Responsibility for Financial Resources None at this level. Corporate Responsibilities Responsible for care of work equipment e.g. laptop, mobile phone. Training and Development Responsible to fulfil mandatory continual professional development (CPD) requirements. Understands and demonstrates the characteristics of a role model to members in the team and/or service. Demonstrates ability to conduct teaching and assessment effectively according to a learning plan with supervision from experienced colleagues. Demonstrates self-development through continuous professional development activity; working alongside colleagues to identify areas to develop. Participates in the delivery of training and education programmes. Demonstrates an understanding of current educational policies relevant to working areas of practice and keeps up to date with relevant clinical practice. Ensures appropriate clinical supervision is in place to support development. The post holder will comply with GDPR, The Data Protection Act (2018) and the Access to Health Records Act (1990). Health & Safety – the post-holder must co-operate with Management in discharging its responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and take reasonable health and safety of themselves and others and to ensure the agreed safety procedures are carried out to maintain a safe environment for patients, employees and visitors. All Health & Safety issues to be flagged to senior staff and the post-holder must comply with the IntraHealth Health & Safety Policy as well as any additional policy requirements within the clinical contract.
