Crynodeb
The aim of the Disabled Children and Therapy Service is to ensure that disabled children and young people are safe, maximise their opportunities, are included in their local communities, have their views heard and achieve their full potential. Cornwalls Disabled Children and Therapy Service is based on a social model of disability. The paediatric occupational therapist provides an occupational therapy service to disabled children, young people and their families/carers, and provides specialist occupational therapy assessments, advice and interventions to children, young people and their families. Occupational Therapists have an allocated caseload and will assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and services to disabled children and young people to maintain, develop and maximise their independence, development and social inclusion.
