Refuse Driver
Full-time (37 Hours) – Permanent
Grade B2 - £31,537 - £33,699 per annum
Food Waste Recycling coming in 2026
Weekly household food waste recycling will be introduced from March 2026 across North Kesteven and the Council is seeking enthusiastic individuals who want to join our high performing team and be at the heart of helping to shape the future of waste collection.
Based at Metheringham Depot you will join our team dedicated to providing a professional and focused waste collection service.
Job Requirements:
• Current Category C Licence
• Valid Driver CPC
• Driving experience
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsibility for refuse collection vehicle
• Team leader responsibility for collection crew
• Undertake daily walk round checks and defect reporting
• Undertake the collection of all waste streams as instructed in accordance with the service Safe System of Work
• Comply with rules, regulations and instructions as all waste disposal sites
• To drive at all times in a safe and courteous manner
Key Attributes:

• Reliable
• Able to follow instruction
• Safety conscious
You will be required to apply a high level of focus when carrying out this role, to support the delivery of the waste collection service at an operational level and show an appreciation of the contribution local government can make to the welfare of the people living, working, and visiting the district. The recruitment process for these positions will be through application and assessment, which will take place during our special recruitment event on Saturday 1st November 2025 between 9am – 3pm at our Waste & Street Scene Depot in Metheringham.
