As our Materials Management Officer / Driver, you will work as an integral part of the team ensuring that internal supply chain services are always maintained e.g., receipts, distribution and/or materials management using computerised receipts, storage and/or bar-coded data capture systems within the warehouse and the wider Trust amongst other duties.
This role encompasses far more than stock handling or driving duties. As a Materials Management Officer / Driver at Dorset HealthCare, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of essential medical kits to clinics and hospitals across Dorset. Your contribution directly supports the continuity of patient care and the smooth operation of clinical services.
Aligned with the Trust’s core values—delivering high-quality, compassionate care through innovation, clinical excellence, and research—you will be a key enabler of frontline healthcare delivery. Your work will have a tangible impact on the wellbeing of patients and the effectiveness of our clinical teams.
Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.
You will also deliver goods to various locations within the Trust portfolio. It will also be your responsibility to deliver goods to the public for example continence products and wound dressings. This may require you to go through the patient’s threshold to assist in putting the goods away
You will be part of a collaborative and supportive environment, where teamwork is highly valued. Dorset HealthCare is committed to helping staff reach their full potential, and this role offers opportunities to broaden your skillset by supporting a range of departments across the Trust.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A clean full UK driving licence
To be 21 years old or over for insurance purposes
A track record of safe driving
Strong team-working skills
A high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach
A positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate
