What skills and experience we're looking for
Are you passionate about unlocking the potential of young minds through Social Science?
Do you have the curiosity, creativity, and commitment to inspire the next generation of criminologists, sociologists, and critical thinkers?
At Ralph Thoresby School, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of Social Science to join our thriving and forward-thinking department. You’ll have the ability to teach Criminology and contribute to a range of engaging Social Science subjects.
Our Social Science department is dynamic, well-resourced, and highly successful — with strong uptake at Sixth Form and a track record of academic excellence. You’ll join a collaborative team that shares best practice, supports professional development, and encourages innovation in the classroom.
What the school offers its staff
The Social Science Department consists of a range of subjects at KS4 and KS5. KS4 includes Sociology and Health and social care, at KS5 we teach Health and Social Care and Criminology. The department is very well resourced across all subjects with each having their own learning area. Social Science as a department performs very well academically and we are looking for a suitable candidate who can help us to drive the academic outcomes even further. Where appropriate, Ralph Thoresby School’s students receive additional support to ensure accelerated progress. This takes the form of an innovative KS4/ KS5 intervention programme and in-class support. Teachers within our department enjoy an outstanding professional development programme, which have led to nationally recognised qualifications and the opportunity to work with professionals from across our extended network.
