Grade:– NJC Grade 5 SCP 17 – 21
35 hours per week.
Term time only 39 weeks (including INSET days)
8.30am - 12.30pm, 1.00pm - 4.00pm. Monday to Friday.
Contract: Permanent
To start 1st December 2025 (or as soon as possible pending recruitment and safeguarding checks)
The Governing Body of Graig-Y-Rhacca Primary and Nursery Community School are seeking to appoint an Office Administration Assistant/Clerk for our friendly school. An approachable, reliable and professional person is required for undertaking this demanding but exciting role within the busy school office.
Graig-Y-Rhacca Primary and Nursery Community School is a happy, welcoming school and the school clerk has an important role, central to all aspects of school life. Efficient organisational skills and the ability to welcome pupils, parents and visitors to our school are essential. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
The successful applicant must have a flexible attitude, work positively as part of our team and enjoy working in an environment with children. They must also be keen to work closely with the Headteacher to help ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school day for the benefit of pupils, families and staff.
Suggested Skills Required
Experience of working in a reception or an administration environment;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- the ability to relate well to children and adults;
Experience of prioritising and managing tasks, effective organisational skills and ability to work on their own initiative;
Ability to work in a busy environment and to work to deadlines;
Ability to respond positively to the confidential nature of this post;
Confidence to ensure all school policies including safeguarding, health and safety procedures etc. are brought to the attention of visitors;
A good knowledge of computer systems, including Word and Excel packages;
A friendly disposition and work honestly;
School based experience of management and operation of administrative systems;
Knowledge of H.R, financial procedures and budgetary control and the use of SIMS and OLAS would be an advantage but training could be provided.
