Learning Support Practitioner
Kew Riverside Primary School is looking for a Learning Support Practitioner to support the learning of pupils, particularly those with additional needs and EHCP funding.
You will be joining an energetic, forward-thinking, and friendly school that is part of a positive and thriving community, with a strong culture of collaboration and shared purpose. Kew Riverside Primary is a happy, warm and welcoming school in Richmond-upon-Thames, close to Kew Gardens and the river. We offer a creative curriculum and an exciting and nurturing learning environment where children are at the heart of everything that we do. As a school we prioritise the wellbeing of our staff and offer an open door approach where everyone is valued and supported.
We are looking to recruit dedicated and nurturing individuals, preferably with experience of working with children with additional needs, who are committed to ensuring all pupils have equality of opportunity to access the curriculum regardless of their barriers, and to be involved in the fullness of school life. The role will involve both one-to-one work with specific pupils and small group work, leading interventions needed to support their development and academic progress, plus other duties such as supervising children in the dining hall and outside in the playground.

Hours: Part Time / Term Time – 25 hours per week (39 weeks of the year, term time plus inset days) 8.30am – 1.30pm

● Have an understanding of numeracy skills and literacy in the primary curriculum
● Be committed to professional development & developing their skills in the classroom
● Have a proven ability to support teaching and learning which inspires, motivates and enables our pupils to love learning
● Have a nurturing approach and initiative
● Be a team player with good communication skills
● Have a range of effective positive behaviour management skills
● Be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community
