As a Web Support Apprentice, this role places you at the heart of our digital operations, working as part of a team that’s shaping how we connect with our audiences online. Working in our Web Team of 3 (including you), you will play a key role in strengthening our digital presence — contributing to impactful projects, supporting day-to-day operations, and collaborating with colleagues who are passionate about delivering engaging, user-focused online experiences. You will gain hands-on experience with a wide range of tools and technologies, and help deliver accessible, consistent, and high-quality web content.

  • Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. 08:30 17:00, Monday to Friday with 1 hour lunch (unpaid)


Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to our Webmaster, you will be supported through three key phases:

Foundation Phase (months 0 – 6): Learn the tools and processes

  • Familiarise with key platforms, including Drupal, WordPress and M365 apps
  • Shadow the Webmaster and assist with websites, domain records, and access permissions
  • Review and document live websites for accuracy, consistency and brand alignment
  • Log and track support requests through the IT Helpdesk system

Active Contribution (months 6 – 18): Take ownership and support users

  • Update content on pub and hotel websites (e.g. menus, opening hours, events)
  • Manage email accounts and user access
  • Support onboarding process and troubleshoot web issues
  • Create and manage training materials, documentation and knowledge base

Longer-Term Aspirations (Post-18 months): Lead and Innovate

  • Deliver light-touch training
  • Support digital unification and website migration
  • Conduct performance and security checks on pub websites and services


The Ideal Candidate:

  • A strong interest in websites, design, or technology
  • Basic IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Clear communication and a collaborative mindset
  • Attention to detail and a curiosity to learn
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage tasks
  • Ideally enrolled in a Digital or IT-related qualification
  • No prior experience required — just enthusiasm and a proactive approach!
