Lead the set-up, management, and delivery of the pharmacy component of all research protocols and clinical trials within the Trust, including NIHR portfolio and commercial trials.Oversee financial aspects of the service, including the preparation of costings, monitoring activity data, and ensuring accurate and timely invoicing to maximise trial income. Provide expert pharmaceutical input into trial design, feasibility, set-up, and ongoing delivery, ensuring compliance with MHRA, ICH-GCP, EU Clinical Trials Directive, and national standards Act as lead contact for MHRA inspections, ensuring systems, processes, and documentation are compliant and inspection-ready at all times. Implement and monitor systems to ensure full GCP compliance across pharmacy research activities. Lead, oversee, and document GCP compliance audits of pharmacy staff, ensuring training, competency, and adherence to protocols are maintained. Manage, support, and develop the Pharmacy Research team, including workforce planning, performance review, and resolution of pipeline and staffing constraints. Ensure safe and efficient dispensing, accountability, and storage of clinical trial medicines in line with legal, ethical, and governance requirements. Provide expert advice and representation at Trust research governance and clinical services research meetings. Lead quarterly and annual reporting on pharmacy research activity, performance metrics, and income generation. Develop and deliver training on clinical trial medicines and GCP to pharmacy staff and the wider MDT. Promote research within the Trust, driving growth in trial activity and income year on year.
