An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Haemostasis and Thrombosis Department at Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. The H&T Senior Staff Nurse post is a dynamic role, which encompasses the supervision of the department on a day to day basis and direct patient contact in both the Anticoagulation Clinic and the Haemophilia and Thrombosis Centre, with working hours of Monday-Friday , 37.5 hrs.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing and prioritising care ideally within a Haematology, Outpatient or Cardiology setting. There is the opportunity to apply for flexible working in this role. As a dedicated Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre and an award winning anticoagulation and thrombosis department, you will have access to clinical experts that are happy and willing to support you with your career journey in our department.

Clinical responsibilities include delivering the smooth day to day running of the service, triaging via a nurse led telephone advisory service, ensuring the highest possible standard of patient care across our outpatient areas and supporting inpatient wards to deliver specialist treatments.

The post holder will be responsible for assessing, planning and providing specialist nursing advice for patients that require warfarin dosing, the creation of haemostasis surgical bridging plans, supporting inpatient areas to provide specialist advice, working as a key member of the MDT and triaging patients via the haemophilia and anticoagulation call centre.

The post holder will provide clinical supervision to other staff, students and may undertake research, lead clinical audits in own specialist area.

The duties and responsibilities of the Senior staff role in Haemostasis and Thrombosis includes supporting the nursing and multidisciplinary workforce in contributing to delivering high standards of clinical leadership, and committed to excellent standard of patient care.

Responsible for providing specialist support for haemophilia and anticoagulation patients. Supporting and leading the team in adhering to areas of compliance and governance. Provide leadership, support and guidance to staff in monitoring the planning and delivering of patient care.
