Murray Recruitment are recruiting a permanent Hire Controller for our client based in South Lanarkshire.

Role Overview:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving and fast-paced business within the construction support sector. The Hire Controller will play a key role in handling customer hire and service enquiries, coordinating daily logistics, and supporting both service delivery and operational teams. This role is best suited to a confident, sociable, and resilient individual who thrives in a reactive environment, balancing administration, customer service, and operational planning with ease.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage incoming customer enquiries via telephone, email, and website, ensuring prompt responses within one hour.
Process customer orders accurately using internal systems and maintain the day work diary.
Coordinate and issue daily delivery and service schedules by 4:30pm in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
Liaise with drivers and yard teams to ensure smooth daily operations and address any service-related issues.
Handle off-hire and collection requests, aiming for completion within 48 hours.
Monitor weekly hire stock levels and organise effluent tank servicing routes as required.
Work closely with the hire and operations teams to maximise route and service efficiency.
Ensure adherence to health and safety standards while promoting a collaborative team environment.
Maintain strong, professional customer relationships through consistent communication and service delivery.

Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in a Hire Controller or similar administrative role is preferred.
High attention to detail and strong accuracy in data entry and order processing.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
A proactive and solution-focused mindset, with the ability to remain composed under pressure.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a confident and empathetic approach to customer interactions.
Resilience and assertiveness when required, balanced with professionalism and tact.

Offering:
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm (40 hours per week).
Holidays: 28 days per year including 8 statutory public holidays.
