Are you a qualified, experienced, and proven Regional Director/Responsible Individual looking for a new challenge? If so, we would love to hear from you.

About the Role
Elwood Recruitment is working in partnership with a specialist provider of care and support for children and young people across the West Midlands. These services support individuals with complex mental health needs, learning disabilities, and emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

We are seeking an experienced Regional Director with residential care expertise to lead, manage, and support a portfolio of children’s residential services across the region. The size and scope of the region may change in line with organisational growth, offering an exciting opportunity for career progression.

In addition to Regional Director responsibilities, you will act as the Responsible Individual for all residential services within your region. You will work closely with the Operations Director to deliver strategic objectives, drive high-quality care, and ensure services achieve positive outcomes. This role requires flexibility to meet operational demands and agreed KPIs.

A key aspect of the role is supporting services to achieve and maintain strong Ofsted inspection outcomes, including working with homes requiring additional support or during periods of managerial absence.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership, management, and direction across multiple residential services.
Line manage and mentor Registered Managers, fostering high-performing teams.
Drive quality standards to ensure safe, effective care in line with the organisation’s Statement of Purpose.
Oversee regulatory compliance, ensuring services achieve and maintain positive Ofsted outcomes.
Support business growth through developing occupancy and placement opportunities.
Act as a positive and influential leader, promoting best practice across services.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care, Children and Young People’s Services (or equivalent).
Significant experience working in children’s residential services (EBD/LD).
Strong supervision, coaching, and leadership skills.
Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel regionally.
In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
Clear understanding of safeguarding frameworks and policies relating to looked-after children.
Experience managing Ofsted inspections and achieving strong outcomes.

What’s in it for you?

A rewarding career with opportunities for progression in a growing organisation.
A commitment to staff development, retention, inclusion, and equal opportunities.
Competitive salary with performance-related bonus.
