Becoming a Children’s Home Registered Manager gives you the chance to transform the lives of young people who may not have had the same opportunities as others. We are looking for a passionate, resilient, and dedicated leader to take on this exciting challenge to shape a residential service for looked after children.
In this role, you will manage a children’s residential service in Tamworth for young people aged 7–16 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). You will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where children can thrive and develop independence.
You’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the home, provide strong leadership to the team, and ensure the service operates in full compliance with care/support plans, safeguarding procedures, and regulatory standards and legislation. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape a new residential home and guide it towards achieving an Outstanding Ofsted rating.
What we’re looking for
We are seeking either:
An experienced Registered Manager with a proven track record of successfully opening and running children’s residential services; or
An ambitious Deputy Manager ready to take the next step and develop their own service.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted frameworks.
Lead, support, and inspire the staff team through supervision, coaching, and training.
Promote the welfare, safeguarding, and voice of young people at all times.
Develop and implement Support Plans and Risk Assessments.
Manage budgets and ensure effective use of resources.
Deliver engaging and purposeful activities, holidays, and events.
Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals, and ensure training requirements are met.
Drive continuous improvement and prepare the home for successful Ofsted inspections.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Strong leadership and team management experience.
In-depth knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
Excellent understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations (England) 2015 and Ofsted standards.
Outstanding organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
A full UK driving licence (essential for supporting young people and activities).
