Plant Area Manager-Horticultural
Full Time 39 hours per week – including weekends
We are currently looking for a Plant Area Manager to join our large Garden Centre Group. Previous experience as a Plant Manager within the industry is preferred, however, applicants with a proven plant management background with a knowledge of plants will be considered.
Working in the plant area is a high volume environment with a fast turnaround. The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role.
A good knowledge of plants is essential to the role as is good customer service and a high standard of visual merchandising.
The successful candidate will preferably possess either a horticultural qualification, will be in training or had practical horticultural experience. Forklift truck licence an advantage.
Duties include:
Managing section people resources
Forward planning of work schedule
Daily resource management to support effective customer service requirements.
Deployment of the team to deliver excellent plant standards.
Responsible for leading a team.
Operational Audit for compliance in those areas
Key holder responsibilities to assist with opening and closing of the centre. Holiday cover
Ensuring department compliance and health and safety regulations are carried out,
positive and strong communicator and a skilled motivational
people manager.
Accountable for providing great customer service and have a
keen eye for quality and detail
Ordering / Plant standards
