What the Client is Looking For:
Proven experience in line management and supervising a team.

Experience in preparing for and contributing to inspections (Ofsted or similar) is advantageous.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Locality Business Support Officer to join their team on a full-time basis for a 9-month maternity cover assignment. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with the flexibility to work from home up to three days per week. This is a key administrative role, supporting business functions and coordinating tasks across the service to ensure smooth operations and a high level of service delivery.
You will be responsible for line managing a team of Business Support Officers, providing supervision and support, as well as managing workloads and ensuring consistent cover. You will also play a pivotal role in ensuring administrative systems are up to date and effective, as well as supporting with inspection preparations and handling sensitive and confidential information. Additionally, you will provide staff training, maintain accurate records, and help with data collection and cleansing.
This role is ideal for someone with strong management skills, a keen eye for detail, and a collaborative approach to working with a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Line manage staff, including supervision, absence management, disciplinary action, and Annual Performance Reviews (APR).
Prioritize and organize workloads to ensure consistent cover during absences and work closely with Business Support Officers.
Support Business Support Officers in maintaining updated system templates and processes.
Prepare for and contribute to Ofsted and other inspections.
Manage day-to-day office requirements such as stationery, equipment, and supplies.
Collect and compile data, support with data cleansing, and present findings.
Organize, develop, and provide training for staff, including creating guidance notes for tasks.
Contribute to the development and improvement of administrative systems, utilizing IT where necessary.
Address and report building/security concerns, ensuring fire alarm tests and fire drills are logged.
Manage minute-taking for meetings and ensure confidentiality.
Oversee financial processes including PCard transactions, Imprest payments, and raising purchase orders.
Handle allocation meetings and update the Synergy database.
Collaborate with Team and Partnership and Family Hub Support Officers to support service delivery.
What the Client Offers:
Salary: £14.83 per hour (PAYE).
A 9-month assignment with a potential to extend.
Hybrid working – 2/3 days a week in the office, the remainder can be worked from home.
37 hours per week with set hours of 8.30 a.m. – 5.00 p.m., and 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Fridays.
