What's involved with this role:

Job Title: HR Advisor

Ref: SGN 5278565

Pay rate: £16.59 per hour PAYE

Role length: Anticipated 2 months

Working arrangements: Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office



The role:

As an experienced and professional HR Advisor, with extensive experience of Employee Relations casework, you will report into the Employee Relations Specialist to provide a comprehensive, expert service of advice and guidance to all areas of the business in order to enable the capability of Managers in dealing with all people matters.

In order to carry out this role, you will be a CIPD qualified (or working towards it) HR professional with strong Employee Relations casework experience, proven ability to manage complex people issues, coach managers, and apply up-to-date employment law and best practices, while effectively prioritising and managing stakeholders.



Key responsibilities:

Advise and support managers on a range of employee relations (ER) issues, building capability across the organisation
Ensure consistent compliance with employment legislation, policies, and procedures
Analyse people data to spot ER trends (e.g. absence, attrition, engagement) and recommend actions
Manage case documentation in line with data protection laws and keep stakeholders updated.
Coach managers to confidently handle dismissals, appeals, and grievances.
Prepare documentation and provide technical support for Employment Tribunal cases.
Where required support with organisational change, including restructures and TUPE, and coach managers through the process
Contribute to people initiatives like harmonisation, policy alignment, and new ways of working
Identify ER training needs and develop learning to build management capability and mitigate risk
Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to close skills gaps and upskill managers
Build strong relationships across teams, contractors, and partners to support goals



What the client is looking for:

CIPD qualified or working towards this
Extensive experience in Employee Relations casework
Ability to consult on a range of relatively complex people issues with a proven ability to deliver against a range of conflicting demands
Experience of coaching and developing managers on Employee Relations matters
Sound knowledge of Employment Law principles and current trends / recent changes, as well as people policies, procedures and best practice
Strong time management, prioritisation and stakeholder management skills
