We are looking to recruit an Admissions Officer to join our busy Administration team as part of the school reception.This is a varied role which will require the willingness from the suitable candidate to be a team player and take on a variety of roles and responsibilities to ensure the smooth running of the school.The main purpose of the role is Admissions, so the ideal candidate will be required to have previous school admissions experience and a knowledge of SIMS, Applica+ and SAM. You will need to have strong IT skills, including but not limited to word, outlook, microsoft office, excel and powerpoint.Admissions:
• To be responsible for the maintenance of the school waiting list in liaison with the Assistant Headteacher.
• To arrange for in year admissions appointments with Assistant Headteacher and HOYs and ensure all relevant paperwork is produced.
• To organise bulk Year 7 admissions process.
• Ensuring that student files are requested from previous schools including an electronic file using the S2S system for new admissions prior to the student being admitted.
• Attendance at Open Evenings and Induction Day events to answer questions from prospective parents.
• Checking the list of applicants against those who have applied under the sibling criteria.
• Liaising with the school SEN department and the LA regarding applications under the SEN criteria.
• Ranking of incoming students for school admissions.
• In liaison with relevant staff, produce all correspondence including welcome letters, interview letters, transition to High School booklets, student and parent induction booklets.
• Sending out communications to primary schools regarding introductory visits for HoY 7.
• Requesting transition information from previous schools and ensuring that accurate information is updated to SIMS.
Student Administration
• To ensure all safeguarding files are securely packaged and safely delivered using tracked post to new schools.
• Producing on/off roll information including statistics and to ensure this is communicated to all the necessary staff and local authority weekly.
• To be responsible for the administration of student leavers including updating SIMS, contacting new schools and forwarding student records onto new schools securely along with exporting electronic leaver records using the S2S system within appropriate timescales.
• To work alongside colleagues to ensure all student filing is up to date and that all student files are maintained in accordance with data protection legislation and filed accurately and archived when necessary.
• Organising the school photographs for all students, new staff and inputting the information on to SIMS.
First Aid
• Hold a first aid at work certificate and attend refresher training as necessary or be prepared to undertake training.
• Administer first aid and assist students who are unwell, including contacting parents, calling emergency services if required and if necessary accompanying staff or students to hospital.
• Completing accident and incident forms in accordance with Health and Safety requirements.
General Administration:
• To undertake a variety of shared general school administrative jobs to ensure the wider smooth running of the school.
• To perform any other duties, including covering the essential work of absent colleagues, as directed by the Assistant Headteacher as and when required.
