We are seeking a Nursery Manager. Please only apply if you have a minimum level 3 qualification in a UK recognised early years qualification and have experience in nursery management or deputy nursery management.

We are looking for a dedicated individual who is looking for an opportunity to lead a supportive team, a natural leader who is highly motivated, organised, enthusiastic and creative.

What a Nursery Manager needs:

Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification
At least 3 years’ post-qualifying experience, including proven leadership and management experience
Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and SEND
Experience in staff supervision, training and performance management
Budget and resource management experience
Flexibility to work a rota between 7am–6pm, Mon–Fri (and beyond 6pm in emergencies)
Enhanced DBS clearance
Duties:

- Take overall responsibility for all aspects of the operation of the nursery, including the management and deployment of staff and the safety, security, education and wellbeing of all children in line with the written policies of the nursery.

-Ofsted registration requirements and all statutory legislation.

- Take responsibility for ensuring policies and procedures are in place to meet the welfare requirements of the EYFS Statutory Framework.

- Oversee the planning of appropriate experiences for children of all ages

- Oversee the organization and implementation of the nursery’s key person system

- Manage the use of the space within the building and outdoors to ensure all children have access to an appropriate range of opportunities and experiences.

- Manage communication with parents, addressing any concerns, informing them of their children’s progress, and encouraging them to become involved in their children’s learning.

- Take responsibility for all matters relating to special educational needs and child protection, in line with the policies of the nursery.

- Implement the Performance Management Policy including a planned cycle of staff observation.

- Operate strict financial controls in order to manage the designated budget of the nursery.

-Oversee the organization of a programme of staff meetings and training to meet identified training needs and ensure all trainees receive appropriate mentoring, coaching, training and supervision.

- Develop professional working relationships with all relevant authorities, including the local authority, Ofsted and the Department for Education (DFE).

- Take responsibility for personal professional development, including participation in any necessary training and regular supervision with a Senior Manager and/or Director

- Treat all staff, children and parents with courtesy and kindness at all times.

- To role model and lead the highest standards of practice, both personally and across the team, with particular emphasis on safeguarding.

- Undertake any other duties as agreed with the Directors.
