As the Cook Manager at Harvington CofE First School (43 Village Street, Evesham WR11 8NQ), you’ll take pride in leading a small, dedicated kitchen team to deliver fresh, nutritious meals that make every school day better.

You’ll run the day-to-day catering operations, manage budgets, and develop your team — all while ensuring top-notch food quality, safety, and service standards.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and inspire your kitchen team, creating a positive and efficient working environment.

  • Plan menus that are healthy, tasty, and aligned with Sodexo standards.

  • Manage food orders, deliveries, stock, and budgets effectively.

  • Oversee all aspects of food preparation, presentation, and service.

  • Ensure all health, safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations are met.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school staff and Sodexo teams.

  • Conduct regular audits and maintain records to meet compliance and quality standards.

  • Monitor financial performance and manage costs, including labour and stock.

  • Support, train, and develop your team to help them thrive.

What You Bring
  • Proven experience cooking for large groups (100–1300 pupils).

  • Experience managing or supervising a catering team.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to perform under pressure.

  • A passion for fresh ingredients and creating quality meals.

  • Professionalism, reliability, and a positive “can-do” attitude.

  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures.

  • Qualifications:

    • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Food Preparation/Catering

    • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate

    • A minimum of 1 year’s hands-on cooking experience
      (Additional training on Food Hygiene and Health & Safety will be provided)

Package Description

“For a job that’s a perfect mix of passion, perks and potential”

  • £15 per hour
  • 30 hours per week
  • Working pattern: Monday - Friday (8am - 2pm)
  • Term Time only (39 week Working Contract paid over 52 weeks)**


**Equated pay (sometimes known as spread-over pay) is a method of paying you for your contracted hours, working weeks and holiday pay spread over 12 months instead of just receiving pay during the months that you work and none during the school closures/non-working weeks. This means that you get paid equal amounts of pay every month. Further information will be supplied at interview stage.**
