Are you ready to progress your career in colorectal/Gastro nursing? Would you like to be a part of a well-established, enthusiastic Colorectal/Gastro Ward Nursing Team? If you are committed to improving patient care through effective leadership, advanced clinical practice and education we can offer the opportunity to join the Trust, as a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse in Colorectal/Gastro. In the role you will learn to provide specialist care and support for patients with a variety of colorectal/Gastro conditions including Colorectal Cancer and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. We are opening 2 brand new purpose built 28 bedded Modular Wards with great facilities for our patients and staff.
Applications are invited from Registered Nurses who demonstrate the following:
*Colorectal/Gastro nursing experience on a surgical ward or in a related area
* Ability to use advanced communication skills.
* Willingness to learn and develop self.

• You will be professionally accountable for the maintenance of standards and professional practice as set by Trust Policies/Procedures, the NMC Code and Behaviour and relevant professional guidelines
• Provide specialist nursing advice to patients referred for specialist intervention, care and support within the services, being a point of contact for assessment, information and advice for the patient, family and carers
• In liaison with others support the development of staff caring for patients through support, formal education, practice development and role modelling
• To teach and act as a facilitator and supervisor to other staff
• In conjunction with other relevant clinical staff, you will assist with clinical development in maintaining and improving all aspects of clinical governance
• Use a range of techniques to ensure and monitor standards of clinical practice, audit, research and teaching to continually improve standards of care and patient experience
• Ensure safe and effective clinical practice
• Enhance patient experience
• Ensure effective delivery of organisational objectives
Our two hospitals, The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford and The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in Shrewsbury, provide a wide range of acute hospital services for around half a million people across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales.
