Crynodeb

The Bilingual Cardiff team provide advice and support on the implemtentaion of the Welsh language standards and the delivery of high-quality Welsh language services, provides a transation services, and promotes the Welsh language and Welsh language promotion strategies on behalf of Cardiff Council.

As a Corporate Apprentice you will be supported in the workplace to develop the skills you need to support our team and make an effective contribution to our Service. You will be provided with a range of workplace activities and experiences, as directed by the manager, and will undertake a range of duties and learning opportunities including, but not limited to, those listed below, whilst also undertaking and completing a relevant Apprenticeship qualification.
Duties and Responsibilities

1. To become competent in the following activities by the end of the apprenticeship period
• Administration to support the Bilingual Cardiff Team with implementation of the Welsh language standards and the Bilingual Cardiff strategy
• Communicating with translation service customers (telephone, email and face-to-face) and agreeing translation return dates and extensions
• Assessing translation documents for the Bilingual Cardiff digital translation log
• Creating billing reports for translation customers
• Minute taking, room booking and other administrative support for Bilingual Cardiff meetings
• Supporting Bilingual Cardiff events to promote the Welsh language in Cardiff

2. To develop transferrable workplace skills e.g.
• To be proactive, adaptable, and responsive to change
• To assist with the provision of a high-quality service – this may include developing homeworking skills for some roles.
• To support internal and external customer requests and ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
• To communicate with a range of internal and/or external customers as required
• To assist other team members in the carrying out of their duties
• To work with others to carry out duties linked to the section in which the Apprentice is placed.
• To undertake and complete all training and development experiences as required.
• To participate in Corporate Scheme events
