We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Quality Manager / Quality Assurance Manager to take the lead in maintaining and enhancing the organisation’s Quality Management System in line with ISO 17043 standards.
As a Quality Manager / Quality Assurance Manager you will drive regulatory compliance, audit programmes, and data-led improvements, ensuring operational quality across laboratory services.
In this Quality Manager / Quality Assurance Manager role, you’ll support governance, analysis, and service excellence — working closely with scientific teams to uphold high professional standards and embed a culture of continual improvement.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Quality Manager / Quality Assurance Manager include:
• Lead Quality Management System: Oversee implementation and compliance with ISO 17043 and related standards
• Develop Policies and Procedures: Design, monitor, and improve quality frameworks and governance processes
• Conduct Audits and Reviews: Deliver audit schedules, data checks, and risk assessments with timely corrective actions
• Provide Data Insights: Analyse statistical information to produce reports and key performance indicators
• Support Service Users: Respond to quality enquiries, complaints, and incidents professionally and promptly
• Host External Inspections: Coordinate visits, prepare responses, and manage follow-up actions
• Promote Quality Culture: Mentor teams and encourage high standards, innovation, and collaboration
• Manage Information Governance: Ensure data protection and GDPR compliance across all functions
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Contribute to strategic planning and operational enhancements
• Liaise with Suppliers: Oversee materials quality and tissue inventory management
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
• Degree in Biomedical Sciences (or equivalent qualification)
• Proven experience of working within a cellular pathology or clinical laboratory environment
• Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO standards, and audit processes
• Strong IT and statistical analysis skills with excellent attention to detail
• Professional registration (e.g., HCPC)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide others
• A collaborative approach with strong problem-solving and organisational skills
DESIRABLE
• Postgraduate qualification in Quality Management or equivalent specialist certification
• Experience of hosting regulatory inspections or external audits
• Leadership or management training
• Strong presentation, mentoring, and delegation skills
