An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised Purchasing Coordinator to join a busy and supportive team based in Crawley. This role is perfect for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to managing purchasing and stock control processes.
Purchasing Coordinator
Location: Crawley, West Sussex
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm

The successful candidate will work closely with the wider team to ensure that stock levels are maintained, purchase orders are placed efficiently, and supplier relationships are managed effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain optimal stock levels to meet customer order requirements.
Raise purchase orders in line with supplier quotations.
Compare pricing and quotations from various suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Source and evaluate potential new suppliers.
Prepare purchasing reports and cost analyses.
Ensure purchasing records are accurate and up to date.
Provide quotes and pricing details to customers as required.
Resolve customer and supplier queries efficiently via phone and email.
Verify supplier invoices and process for payment.
Support the wider sales office team when required.
About You:
You’ll be a detail-oriented and organised individual with excellent communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach. Confident using IT systems (including Microsoft Office), you’ll be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment. A team player who enjoys problem-solving, you’ll bring a positive attitude and a willingness to get involved across the business.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
Familiarity with import/export processes and Sage 200 (advantageous).
Experience working within the construction, trade, or related industries.
Background in construction, trade supply, or related industries.
