Job Title: Third in Charge – Early Years Setting
Location: London, SE12 9JH
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum

Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Third in Charge to join our growing early years team at a new site opening in early 2025. We are committed to the highest standards, ensuring children are safe, supported, and engaged in a stimulating learning environment that promotes their individual needs and interests.

Key Responsibilities:

Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as relevant legislation and guidelines.

Plan and deliver rich learning opportunities and exceptional care to meet the developmental needs of all children.

Make accurate assessments reflecting children’s interests and stages of development through the key person approach.

Ensure both indoor and outdoor environments are stimulating, safe, and inspiring for continuous provision.

Lead, mentor, and inspire a team, providing regular feedback, 1:1s, supervisions, and appraisals.

Promote the health, safety, and welfare of children, staff, and families in line with safeguarding policies.

Implement British Values through Early Years Foundation Stage learning and play.

Support children in managing behaviour and developing emotional regulation.

Collaborate with colleagues, parents/carers, and other professionals to maintain a diverse and inclusive approach.

Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by the line manager, including assisting with opening and closing the setting and assuming management responsibilities when required.

Person Specification:

Level 3 qualification in childcare.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an early years setting (preferred).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation.

Well-organised, proactive, and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Strong people management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate a team.

High attention to detail and commitment to excellence.

Flexible, resilient, and adaptable with the ability to cope under pressure.

Commitment to continuous professional development and early years best practice.

Confident and approachable with strong interpersonal skills.
