Job Description
We are looking for a PA to support a young 22 year old Gentleman, to access the community and gain independence. He already has an element of independence, and this is something he, and his family are keen to progress with.
There is 8 hours a month available to be used flexibly over the month. Examples of these can be seen below.
The employer attends a day centre twice a week and goes to college on the remaining 3 days.
The PA will be required to use their own vehicle to support the Employer to access their wider community to attend leisure activities, such as bowling, Cinema and shopping. These can also include activities within the home, inclusive of cooking and playing games.
As the employee, you will be required to support me with accessing my wider community, thus opening me up to new environments and options.
Roles and Responsibilities
. Support the employer with accessing the community
. Support with sourcing and finding new opportunities
. Safely guide and advise in a calm and kind manner.
Specific Requirements
Driver Required, with access to their own care for work purposes.
Required Training
Personal or professional knowledge of supporting individuals with learning difficulties and communications issues is desirable, however not essential for the right candidate.
Epilepsy awareness is desirable but not essential. Epilepsy is well controlled with daily medication.
About Me
I am a 22 year old young man, I have learning difficulties and communication difficulties. This will not interfere with how we can communicate, once we build up a good relationship with each other.
I am slowly gaining more independence, and I can now confidently walk to the local shop alone, this is something I am keep to build on and improve.
I live at home with my mum, who I am very close with. My father sadly passed away 5 years ago and this is something I am heavily affected by. A PA with a kind and calming nature who can support me through moments where I may struggle.
I have 2 Grandparents whom I am really close with and I see these on a regular basis.
I have an older brother who I am very close with and 2 Nephews who I adore.
Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy watching films, Bowling, Cinema and playing games. I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie and enjoy going to a theme park.

Please kindly note, at this time we do not have any pets in the house, but this will potentially change in the future.
My Support Network

The employer lives at home with the support of his mother, he also has an older brother who lives away from, They have regular contact and face time on a regular basis, as well as meeting him weekly.
The employer has 2 grandparents, who are an important part of his life.
