Teaching Assistant Opportunities – Workington

We are currently seeking two dedicated Teaching Assistants for a fantastic school located in the heart of Workington. These are long-term roles with the potential to continue for the full academic year.

Location: Workington, Cumbria
Contract Type: Temporary Supply (October 2025 – July 2026)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Expected Weekly Hours: 30
Pay: £12.85 – £14.50 per hour (inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay, subject to age and experience)

Hannett Hale Recruitment is proud to be working on behalf of a welcoming primary school in the heart of Workington to recruit two dedicated Teaching Assistants for long-term temporary positions. These roles offer the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Role 1 – Part-Time KS1 SEN Support

This role involves supporting two pupils in KS1, with additional needs.
• Work closely with the class teacher to help reintegrate pupils into their main classroom routines
• Provide tailored support for social, emotional, and educational development
• Follow the school’s behaviour policies and routines with confidence and consistency
• Experience working with children with SEN is essential
• The ideal candidate will be resilient, patient, and proactive

Role 2 – Full-Time KS2 General TA

This full-time role supports various KS2 classes, assisting with all aspects of classroom delivery.
• Lead small group sessions focused on phonics and maths
• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective learning activities
• Contribute to classroom organisation and provide one-to-one or group support as needed
• Candidates must have recent classroom experience (within the last year) and hold a recognised TA, childcare, or teaching qualification

• Proven experience working within Early Years Foundation Stage or primary settings
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s growth and development
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, pupils, and families
