Part-Time Primary Teacher – Literacy Focus (near Cockermouth)

Location: West Cumbria (near Cockermouth)
Contract Type: Temporary Supply (October 2025 – July 2026)
Hours:
- Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri: 10:15am arrival for 10:30am start, finish at 1:15pm
- Wednesday: 10:15am – 3:15pm
Weekly Total: Approx. 16 hours
Pay: £100–£140 per day (inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay, dependent on experience)


Hannett Hale Recruitment is delighted to be working on behalf of a beautiful rural primary school on the outskirts of Cockermouth to recruit a part-time Primary Teacher with a passion for literacy and early learning.

About the Role

This is a nurturing, small-school environment with a highly supportive Headteacher and a strong community ethos. The school is seeking a teacher who can:
• Lead and develop reading, phonics, and literacy across the school
• Work with small groups of pupils to build confidence and fluency in English
• Deliver engaging sessions that support early language development and comprehension
• Collaborate with staff to ensure consistent progress and a love of reading

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Recent experience teaching in a primary setting
• A strong understanding of phonics and literacy strategies
• A nurturing, creative approach to small group teaching
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
